About JATCo - Who are we?

The Jersey Association of Trust Companies (JATCo) is an organisation that represents the majority of trust companies in the Island of Jersey, Channel Islands. It has over 50 member firms, which employ an estimated 4,000 people locally. Its members, and those employed by them, contribute a significant percentage of the Island’s annual tax revenues.

What do we do?

We are a proactive organisation and the voice of our industry. We represent our members’ interests to Government and our financial services Regulator. Members of Government and Jersey Finance Limited (JFL) attend our monthly committee meetings to ensure effective communication and the President sits on various Advisory groups, which work with Government, JFL and the Regulator on various island initiatives. We also run an educational programme to enable decision makers and opinion formers (both locally and further afield) to have critical information upon which to make decisions affecting the Island’s Trust Industry. We collate opinion and inform members about developments within the industry be they technical, regulatory, fiscal or of a practical nature. JATCo also works collaboratively with other trade bodies in Jersey on those matters which impact all of us and to address issues as they arise.

How do I join?

JATCo’s members cover the spectrum of trust and company service providers.  To be a member, firms must be regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission in the provision of trust and company business or in the process of applying for such a licence.
